February 2012 - Before and After

D, after many months of no haircuts, finally came to me and asked for one. I, of course, jumped at the chance to remove the mop. The before picture isn't exactly right. It looks especially poofy because I had just combed through it. It is funny, though.
Now that's more like it. I knew he was in there somewhere. Also, this will be a much better hair-do for training for the 1/2 marathon he will be doing in a couple of months.
This is just to illustrate how much hair the boy actually had on his head. I had just cut S's hair and we thought it would be funny to compare the piles afterwards. Wow! Anyone need a wig?
Here's my traditional "before" photo. This is 39 weeks and hopefully, in the next week, I can get an after picture taken.
And here we are "after". It ended up being less than a week later. This is the day we went home from the hospital. She was born on the 28th, weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20 inches long. We couldn't be happier that she's here now and our family is complete!

January 2012

J spent the middle part of the wrestling season injured (his shoulder, during a match) so he couldn't really participate. The very last match of the season he got to wrestle twice - and he was able to pin his opponent both times! These were his only two wins. It was very exciting to watch. And I remembered my camera, too! It just goes to show that even when he wasn't able to participate in practice physically, he was still studying moves and working through them in his head. For never having wrestled before, he did well. He plans on continuing through high school. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to watch without being completely stressed out.

His second match-up was with a girl. He was extra determined to win that one. I don't think he would have been able to live with being beaten by a girl!

K turned 7. She is such a sweet girl. She got everything she asked for this year. Furtunately she didn't ask for very much. The next birthday to look forward to is the new baby!
